The Sea Dog Slayer: Part Deux

Information based on version ... Current game version is 2.15.46.0

The plot thickens! You figure the best way to get rid of the bounty hanging over your head for slaying those poodles is to take the bounty yourself and try to put up a convincing and highly public attempt at hunting for - and losing - the Sea Dog Slayer's trail.

You're in for quite a surprise: turns out there IS a Sea Dog Slayer, who likes dogs and is angry at you for connecting him with such a dastardly crime...

Mission Notes

You will have to talk to the bartenders in Grenville, Carlos Harbour, and Tampa, in an attempt to be seen hot on the heels of your quarry. The bartender in Tampa will introduce you to the real Sea Dog Slayer, who is upset that you've been spreading lies about him and challenges you to a duel.

This leads to a naval battle in which the Sea Dog Slayer, Monty McQuirty, is in a level 16 'Corsair' Xebec. He is accompanied by two ships of level 5-12. It is only necessary to defeat McQuirty's ship, and it is fragile enough for its level that you can ignore the other ships and kill him quickly.

Notable NPCs

France:

Audoin Jene is the bartender in Tampa, and would be the correct NPC contact for this part of the french version of this mission. However, currently there seems to be a bug that has you talk to another bartender instead when you enter the mission instance in Tampa (specifically: James Keach, who usually runs the tavern in the english port of Les Hattes).
