General Contention Points can be viewed by opening your Local Map, and selecting the PvP Areas tab.
General Contention Points are awarded:
- whenever you decline a Port Battle invitation, or
- if you are not selected to participate in a Port Battle for which you had Personal Contention Points.
You receive half the number of Personal Contention Points that you had earned for the Port Battle that was missed.
General Contention Points are reset to zero whenever a Port Battle invitation is accepted.
At this stage it is believed that General Contention Points are added to Personal Contention Points when invitations for a Port Battle are being sent out. In short, it means that the Personal Contention Points earned for any missed battle are not wholly wasted as they build up and increase the chance that you will be selected to participate in future battles.
