Society namespace pages are not included in total "foo articles on this wiki" number. By MW default only pages in main NS are counted. Any extra namespaces should be "flagged" to be included in stats, if desired. Do we want to have Society: pages included in potbs pagecount? -- Nef (talk) 08:30, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't know this but now that I think about it I don't think they have to be included. Iirc the reasoning was to provide a means for a Society to put a bit of info about themselves here. We're not handling adding societies in a encyclopedic way. The info on Society pages is never verified, etc, (some more wiki guidelines), etc and is solely added by members of the Society in question. We're not actively trying to map all (well) know Societies. In short, I don't think we have to go through trouble adding Society pages to the count.
