A Pirate Hunter found in Mexico is offering you a bounty mission against the Mithridati Pirates.
This is a repeatable mission that must be completed solo. While the mission is marked as level twenty-five, this mission is notorious for being extremely difficult to survive.
Your fleet of eight NPC allies will be faced with twenty-three enemies. Your objective is to sink one marked ship. At the beginning you will be required to tell each ally where to position during the battle. The marked enemy will be along the east side of the channel, so there is little point in asking your allies to patrol the west side or center of the channel.
After giving the orders, you will move towards the enemy fleet. Each enemy will not aggro until you come within three hundred yards. Do your best to skirt the east side, aggro-ing as few enemies as possible. Your allies will wait until you aggro the first enemy before assisting you. At this point you will need to make a beeline to the marked enemy. Upon aggro-ing the marked enemy, he will begin to sail around. and if he sails towards the center your chances of succeeding may become evaporate as he will aggro additional ships. Do your best to stay near the east coast, forcing him to stay near you.
Throughout the mission, your allies will be of little assistance. As a test, I began the fight and then backed away. Despite being in better ships, my allies died very quickly and without sinking a single enemy.
It is also worth pointing out that you will have no opportunity to escape once committed to the channel as the enemies use a mix of crew, armor, and sail shot.
Overall, it is possible to complete the mission and one player reportedly succeeding in an unfit locust, but with no special rewards, it may be best to take a pass on this mission and its sister daily (Storm Surge).
- Give orders to your fleet.
- Defeat the marked ship.
