BATTERIES Batteries
The guns on your ship are divided into batteries. Guns within a single battery are identical and are controlled as a group.
Type Quantity & Weight
This shows number and size of the guns in the battery. Heavier guns do more damage, have longer range and penetrate armor better. Lighter guns reload faster and are better at dealing sustained damage against unarmored targets.
Reload Reload
The time it takes to reload the entire battery of guns, in seconds.
Damage Maximum Damage
This shows how much damage each cannon can do at minimum range using heavy round shot. Damage gradually decreases as your target gets farther away.
Range Maximum Range
This shows how far the cannons can fire heavy round shot. Other ammo types modify this range.
Acc Accuracy
This shows the cannon's percentage chance to hit a standard target at 200 or 400 yards away. The chance to hit is increased based on target size, and decreases based on movement.
200/400 Accuracy
This shows the cannon's percentage chance to hit a standard target at 200 or 400 yards away. The chance to hit is increased based on target size, and decreases based on movement.

The Agamemnon is a merchant bark that has been refit and repurposed into a dangerous warship. It's not quick, but it has a nasty bite and has a great running speed.

History

Strategy and Use

The Agamemnon is a very affordable upgrade for Cutthroat captains working their way through their mid-20's. It can be found travelling alone or in packs with the 'Corsair' Mastercraft Xebec or 'Mystique' Polacre all along the American continental coastline from St. Rose's Bay down to Port-of-Spain, with hotspots around Biloxi and Santa Clara.

It's a reliable levelling ship up until the early 30's when the 'Raa' Frigate and 'Stralsund' Mastercraft Frigate become available; while the level 27 'Stralsund' Frigate has somewhat heavier guns and better armor, it can be harder to obtain, has a sizeably smaller cargo capacity as well as a very low acceleration for a ship its level, which can make it an uncomfortable command especially for new captains used to much more agile ships.

Tactics

The Agamemnon is quite possibly the most heavily armed ship for its level. It is also the first ship (for Cutthroat captains) to feature a top deck/gundeck battery distribution, as well as both bow and stern chasers. It allows adventurous Cutthroats to have an early taste of higher level vessels while also making a very efficient solo levelling boat on the cheap for captains who can't afford to keep upgrading the mods on a 'Postillionen' Mastercraft Frigate.

The fast guns, while not as heavy as those of the level 27 Stralsund, are able to make quicker work of low level NPCs, while the large cargo hold comes in very handy when grinding patrol fleets in a levelling group.

Overall, the Agamemnon is a sturdy ship and reasonably maneuverable, too - its lower acceleration doesn't completely cripple her anywhere near to the extent of the Stral.
